Zac Brown Band History

The Zac Brown Band were formed in 2002 with the group playing upwards of 200 shows a year from their inception. The original line up of Zac Brown Band members included Zac Brown, Marcus Petruska and Jacob Lawson.

The group's debut album, Home Grown, was released in 2005, and in 2008, their second studio album, The Foundation, saw them break into the mainstream. The record went on to sell over three million copies in the United States alone and reach the top ten on the mainstream Billboard charts.

That record included the singles Chicken Fried, Whatever It Is, Toes, and Highway 20 Ride. By the time they released their third album, You Get What You Give, they had moved to Southern Ground and Atlantic. That album hit the top of the US Billboard charts and cemented the group's standing in the genre.

As one of the leading Southern Ground artists, the group followed up that album with Uncaged (2012) and Jekyll + Hyde (2015), both of which were also chart-toppers. By this point, other key members had joined the group, including Daniel de Los Reyes, Chris Fryar, Coy Bowles, John Driskell Hopkins, Jimmy De Martini, Clay Cook and Matt Mangano, with Caroline Jones going on to join in 2022.

Welcome Home followed in 2017 and was a big commercial and critical hit. In 2018 and 2019, they enjoyed a successful tour, which saw huge crowds in attendance for their Down the Rabbit Hole Live shows across North America.

In 2021, the Zac Brown Band released their seventh studio album, The Comeback, which proved a bit success and was backed by yet another memorable tour. The Zac Brown Band founded Camp Southern Ground in 2011, a summer camp and veteran-serving charity in Fayetteville, Georgia, a not-for-profit organization doing a great deal of good for the community and key causes that the group stands by.
