It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming...Euro 2028 will be played across nine stadiums in England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland, from Friday 9 June to Sunday 9 July 2028. The tournament opens at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and ends with the final at Wembley.

That makes it the first men’s European Championship to take place in the UK since Euro 96, albeit portions of the 2020 tournament did take place at Wembley Stadium. With 24 teams, 51 matches and around three million tickets, here is everything you need to know about the Euro 2028 stadiums, the schedule and how ticket distribution will work.

Euro 2028 Stadiums: Key Takeaways

  • Nine stadiums in eight cities will host 51 matches. Wembley leads the way with eight games, including both semi-finals and the final on Sunday 9 July 2028.
  • England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland will play all three group games at home if they qualify directly. Northern Ireland lost hosting rights when Casement Park was dropped.
  • UEFA is broadly freezing prices at Euro 2024 levels, with the cheapest tickets set to cost under £30. Sales open after the final draw in December 2027.

Which Stadiums Are Hosting Euro 2028?

UEFA confirmed the nine Euro 2028 venues in November 2025, when it also unveiled the full match schedule. Six are in England, with one each in Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland.

Here is how the 51 matches are split across the host stadiums.

Stadium City Euro 2028 Matches

Aviva Stadium (Dublin Arena)Dublin7
Principality Stadium (National Stadium of Wales)Cardiff6
Hampden ParkGlasgow6
Tottenham Hotspur StadiumLondon5
Etihad Stadium (Manchester City Stadium)Manchester5

Every venue apart from Wembley stages a round of 16 tie. Instead, Wembley saves itself for a quarter-final, both semi-finals and the final.

The other three quarter-finals go to Cardiff, Dublin and Glasgow. That means all four host nations’ national stadiums get a slice of the knockout action.

Euro 2028 Venues Guide: All Nine Stadiums Explained

Wembley Stadium, London

The 90,000-seater home of English football is the centrepiece of Euro 2028. It hosted the Euro 2020 final and will stage more matches than any other venue this time around.

England’s last two group games are pencilled in here, as well as a quarter-final, two semi-finals and the final itself.

Principality Stadium, Cardiff

Listed by UEFA as the National Stadium of Wales, Cardiff gets the tournament under way on Friday 9 June 2028. With a capacity of around 74,000 and a retractable roof, it is the second-largest venue at the Euros.

If Wales qualify directly, they will play in the opening match in front of their own fans. Cardiff also hosts a round of 16 tie and a quarter-final.

Aviva Stadium, Dublin

Known as the Dublin Arena in UEFA material, the Aviva is the only Euro 2028 stadium outside Great Britain. Its seven matches put it second only to Wembley.

The Republic of Ireland will be based here if they qualify, with a round of 16 tie and a quarter-final also heading to Dublin.

Hampden Park, Glasgow

Hampden returns after hosting four games at Euro 2020. The roughly 52,000-capacity national stadium has six matches, including a round of 16 tie and a quarter-final.

Scotland would play all three of their group games here, plus their last 16 match if they top the group.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

London’s second venue is the home of Tottenham Hotspur, which opened in 2019 and holds around 62,000. It stages five matches, including a round of 16 tie on Monday 26 June.

It is also earmarked as a group-stage base for Northern Ireland, should they qualify, even though Belfast will not host any games.

Etihad Stadium, Manchester

The home of Manchester City (listed as the Manchester City Stadium by UEFA) hosts five matches. Crucially, it is where England would open their campaign on Saturday 10 June 2028.

Hill Dickinson Stadium, Liverpool

Everton’s new home at Bramley-Moore Dock opened in 2025 and holds 52,769 fans. Euro 2028 will be its international tournament debut, with five matches including a round of 16 tie.

Anfield missed out because its pitch is shorter than UEFA’s required 105 metres, while Old Trafford was also left off the list.

St James’ Park, Newcastle

The home of Newcastle United brings Euro 2028 to the North East with five matches. It is a big one for England fans, as the Three Lions would play their round of 16 tie here if they win Group B.

Villa Park, Birmingham

A Euro 96 venue, the home of Aston Villa hosts four matches. That is the fewest of any Euro 2028 stadium, with three group games and a round of 16 tie on Tuesday 27 June.

If they win Group B, England would head to St James’ Park for the last 16, then return to Wembley for any quarter-final and semi-final. An England vs Wales quarter-final at Wembley is possible if both win their groups.

How To Get Euro 2028 Tickets

Euro 2028 ticket sales will open after the final tournament draw in December 2027. UEFA plans to announce the full list of prices and sale dates in autumn 2027.

The qualifying draw takes place in Belfast on Sunday 6 December 2026, with group games running from March to November 2027.

Euro 2028 Ticket Prices: UEFA’s Price Freeze

UEFA will broadly freeze ticket prices at Euro 2024 levels. The two cheapest “Fans First” categories are set to stay below £30 and £60 for group games.

More than 40% of all tickets will fall into those two categories, and there will be no dynamic pricing. As with every major tournament, prices will rise through the knockout rounds.

Each qualified nation will also be allocated 10,000 tickets per group match. Disabled supporters can access the cheapest categories and request a free companion ticket.

What Happens When Euro 2028 Tickets Sell Out?

With around three million tickets across nine stadiums, demand will still far outstrip supply for the biggest games. Host nation group matches, the Wembley semi-finals and the final will be the toughest to land.

That is where SeatPick comes in. We pull together tickets from a range of trusted resale partners in one search, so you can compare seats and prices for the matches you want without hopping between sites.
