Euro 2020 has attracted a record 28 million ticket requests from fans all over the world.
The number of applications for Euro 2020 has smashed the current record and doubled the figures from Euro 2016, which is a huge success and perhaps attributed to the fact that the Euro will be hosted in 12 different countries which saves fans the need to travel and as a result spend their budget only on the matches.
Ticket sales came in two phases:
- General public sales went from 12 June to 12 July and had – ~19.3m ticket applications.
- Fans of the qualified teams (4–18 December) – had ~9m ticket applications.
How to buy tickets for Euro 2020?
Fans of the play-off winners
After the European qualifiers play-offs that take place at the end of March and will determine who are the last four qualifying teams for the Euro, these fans will be able to apply online for UEFA EURO 2020 tickets at the beginning of April.
What to expect during the purchase phase: Tickets will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis closer to the tournament, but as things stand right now it looks like demand will most likely outstrip demand.
Option 1 – Official ticket resale platform
Fans can try their luck via the official UEFA resale platform, which opens up around the end of February. Tickets that are offered here are from fans that are trying to resale their tickets and get their money back.
For the low-level matches this can be a good option, but it is unlikely you will find top-level matches on the platform or premium seats.
Option 2 – Official hospitality packages
You can find all the available hospitality options on the official site here.
Packages include Suites, catering & tickets to the event. Prices are significantly higher than the “normal” tickets but do come with some perks, it really depends on your preferences.
There are 3 tiers:
- THE SUITE – Starting from €980 pp
- THE LOUNGE – Starting from €1,200 pp
- THE CLUB – Starting from €780 pp
Option 3 – Resale Sites
There are dozens of sites that are promoting Euro tickets for sale, some prominent platforms that well known are sites such as Viagogo and StubHub, but there are many other sites out there.
The important thing to remember is that you need to look for the best and most reliable options, price shouldn’t be your only guideline, but rather make sure the site that you are buying from is a legit site.
Luckily that is what SeatPick is for, we compare all the biggest and vetted sites in one place so you can find the best deal in the market in seconds, so you can be sure you that not only are you getting the best price but you are also buying your tickets from reliable sources with 100% ticket guarantee.
