Brantley Gilbert Biography

Brantley Gilbert was born in January 1985 in Jefferson, Georgia, and moved to Nashville to become a songwriter. He eventually signed with Warner Chappell Publishing. Among the tracks he wrote or co-wrote were singles for Jason Aldean, including My Kinda Party and Dirt Road Anthem.

His debut album, A Modern Day Prodigal Son, released on Valory Music, was a moderate hit, and his second effort, in 2010, Halfway to Heaven, saw him crack the code with the album going to number two on the US Country Music Charts and number four on the US Billboard Mainstream charts. He worked with Colt Ford on Dirt Road Anthem in 2010, which helped garner some much-needed early exposure.

Singles from that successful album include Kick It In the Sticks, My Kind of Crazy, Them Boys, Country Must Be Country Wide, You Don't Know Her Like I Do and More than Miles. It helped put Brantley Gilbert on the map as a leading country music performer.

During this period Brantley Gilbert was making a name for himself as a fine live performer, supporting acts like William Nelson and Eric Church as well as putting on his own headlining events.

2014's Just As I Am gave Brantley Gilbert his first-ever US Country Music Charts number one and spawned a string of successful singles, including Bottoms Up, One Hell of an Amen, Stone Cold Sober, and Small Town Throwdown (featuring Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett).
