Breaking Benjamin History

Breaking Benjamin were formed in 1999 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennslyvania and they released their debut album, Saturate, in 2002, to moderate success.

The band's original lineup consisted of Benjamin Burnley, Aaron Fink, Mark James Klepaski, and Jeremy Hummel. They quickly became one of the biggest bands of their genre and were well-known from an early stage for putting on the best concert experience.

Phobia followed in 2004 (featuring the song Dance with the Devil), getting to number two in the US, before their fourth album, Dear Agony, saw them crack the mainstream code, with the record reaching number four on the US Billboard Albums Chart as well as charting well across the world. It sold over a million copies in the United States alone and included the singles I Will Not Bow, Give Me a Sign and Lights Out.

Legal issues followed that meant the band was disbanded between 2010 and 2014 but in 2015; Breaking Benjamin hit the top of the US charts with their fifth studio album, Dark Before the Dawn, which also went to the top of the charts in Canada. They also collected three number-one hits on the US Mainstream Rock charts, with Failure, Angels Fall and Never Again all hitting those heights.

Ember followed in 2018 and was another commercial success, cementing their standing in the hard-rock, post-grunge alternative metal scene.
