Simple Minds Tour Dates

Simple Minds concert tickets are proving very popular as the Scottish rock band sets about another global tour. Simple Minds Concert Tickets

Over the past decade, Simple Minds have got back on the road and, along with a myriad of special guests, have once again played to the masses and proven their credentials as a live band that still rocks.

Simple Minds History

Over the course of their lengthy career, Simple Minds have secured 24 top 40 UK singles and have sold over 60 million records worldwide. The band's debut album was released in 1979, with Life in a Day earning them a moderate hit in the UK.

New Gold Dream, released in 1982, was the first album to break into the US Billboard charts and spawned a string of hit singles, including classics that remain part of the band's expansive setlist.

Promised You a Miracle, Glittering Prize, and Someone Somewhere in Summertime all did well commercially, but undoubtedly, the band's big breakthrough came after their best-known song was included in the soundtrack of a classic 1980s movie.

Don't You Forget About Me is without a doubt one of the biggest songs of the 1980s and gave Simple Minds their first US number-one single and undoubtedly the largest US hit the band have managed. The song came to represent more than just a track from a film, it has lived long and become an iconic moment of music, and film, history.

It sold over a million copies in the United States and went to the top ten globally and made the band famous worldwide.

Their following studio album, Once Upon a Time, proved a smash hit, topping the charts in the UK and across Europe, and included another massively successful single, Alive and Kicking, another band anthem that forms a key part of the Simple Minds set to this day as well as All the Things She Said and Sanctify Yourself.

Belfast Child earned the band their first UK number-one single, and meant that the band consistently acclaimed success over the best part of a decade.

Simple Minds continued to earn big hit songs and critically acclaimed albums in the 1990s and 2000s, and they are now one of the best live outfits in the nostalgia market.

2022 saw the band release their nineteenth studio album, and Direction of the Heart once again broke the top ten in the UK and also charted well in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, and the United States.

This is yet more proof, if needed that Simple Minds are more than just a novelty 1980s band, and that is reflected in the size and scale of their latest tour and even more of a reason to make sure you get hold of Simple Minds tickets now!
