AJR History

AJR were formed in New York in 2005, originally performing in parks across the city, and they self-released the self-titled debut EP in 2012.

I'm Ready

They attracted the attention of some celebrity acts via social media, with Sia helping to alert Columbia Records to their existence. Their major label debut album came out in 2015 on Warner Brothers, and the record's lead single, I'm Ready, became a major US hit, going platinum.

Two years later, they released their second album, The Click, which charted well in the US and across Europe, and this led to the fanbase that follow AJR growing significantly. Singles from this release include Weak, Drama and Sober Up.

2019's Neotheater rose to the top ten in the US and also performed well in the UK. AJR's fourth album, OK Orchestra, secured glowing reviews from critics and was a commercial success, reaching number one on the US Indie Album Charts and into the top ten of the US Billboard Album Charts.

Bang!

The album's lead single, Bang! went twice platinum and also charted well in Canada, Israel, and Australia. Other singles from OK Orchestra include Bummerland, Way Less Sad and World's Smallest Violin.

In 2017 AJR performed at the White House, and they also performed at the We The People virtual concert as part of the inauguration of Joe Biden in 2021.

The Maybe Man

In 2023, a new album was released, and The Maybe Man secured amazing reviews and was another big hit in the US and beyond. The DJ is Crying for Help was another successful track from the release. The record was backed by an extensive Maybe Man Tour, their first arena tour, which is evidence of their ever-growing popularity.
