Brazil vs USA Copa America Tournament Record

Brazil were one of the founder nations in the Copa America in 1916 and won the tournament for the first time in 1919. Between 1949 and 1989, however, Brazil really struggled for form and failed to win a single title in that four-decade period.

In 1995 the USA waltzed through their group, beating Argentina 3-0 in the process, before downing Mexico in the Quarter-Finals. They were then felled by Brazil in the final four.

At the 2016 finals, the centenary celebrations of the Copa America, which were hosted in the United States, they did it again. This time, under head coach Jurgen Klinsmann, they edged past Ecuador in the Quarter-Finals before Argentina thumped them 4-0 in Houston, Texas.
