Chase & Status History

Chase and Status were formed in 2003 when Saul Milton (Chase) and Will Kennard (Status) met in London, and prior to the release of their debut album, they enjoyed multiple number-one hits on the UK Dance Charts. They were signed to Ram Records imprint and have not looked back since.

Hurt You, Take Me Away, and Pieces (featuring vocals from Plan B) all topped that chart, and the first of their studio albums came out in 2008 with More than Alot performing moderately well.

In 2011 Chase and Status released their second studio album, with No More Idols being a true breakthrough success. The album went to number two in the UK and did well across Europe. Hits from that record included End Credits (once again with Plan B), Let You Go (featuring Mali), Blind Faith (featuring Liam Bailey), Time (featuring Delilah) and Flashing Lights (with Sub Focus and Takura).

Brand New Machine followed in 2013 and was another big success in the UK and across continental Europe. That album included top ten UK hits Lost & Found and Count On Me (featuring Moko).

Tribe was released in 2017 and this cemented Chase and Status as one of the leading groups on the electronic music scene. During this period, they continued to play sold-out shows around the world, and they remain one of the best live acts on the scene, as evidenced by their ever-growing fanbase.

Rtrn II Jungle (2019) and What Came Before (2022) both charted well in the United Kingdom, continuing their fine run of success in their native country.

In 2023, they released their 2 Ruff, Vol. 1 mixtape, which reached number four on the UK charts and secured successful singles in the form of Disconnect (featuring Becky Hill), Baddadan and Liquor & Cigarettes.

As well as proving a big commercial success over the past two decades or more, the critical acclaim secured by the band is reflected by the number of accolades won by Chase and Status. Chase and Status picked up a prestigious Brit Awards triumph in 2024 for Producer of the Year and they also won a Best Video award at the Q Awards for End Credits.
