Girls Aloud History

Girls Aloud were formed in 2002 when they were unveiled on Popstars: The Rivals. The original lineup included Cheryl Tweedy, Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding.

The band's debut single, Sound of the Underground, went to the top of the UK singles chart and also performed well across Europe and saw the band truly hit the mainstream. The band's debut album also performed well, reaching number two on the UK charts.

The album also spawned historic pop hits, including No Good Advice, Life Got Cold, and Jump. In 2004, Girls Aloud released their second album, What Will the Neighbours Say?, which was once again a top ten UK hit on the album charts.

That album gave the band their second number-one single, with I'll Stand By You hitting the top spot. In addition, The Show, Love Machine and Wake Me Up all got to the top ten. 2005's Chemistry scored Girls Aloud, another successful album, and in 2007, Tangled Up got to number four on the UK Albums chart.

In between those successes, Girls Aloud teamed up with the Sugababes on the number-one song Walk This Way. In 2008, their fifth album, Out of Control, gave the band their first UK number-one album and proved to be their best-selling album to date.

Successful singles from that album included The Promise, The Loving Kind and Untouchable. Over the course of their heady career, Girls Aloud have won many awards and accolades and even held the Guinness World Record for Most Consecutive Top Ten Entries by a Female Group in 2008.

In 2013, the band went on a massive tour with Ten: The Hits Tour, seeing the band play 20 sell-out shows across the UK. Tragically, in 2021, Sarah Harding died of breast cancer. Sarah fell ill and was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2020, and proceeds from her final single, Wear It Like a Crown, were donated to The Christie NHS Foundation Trust

2024's tour, The Girls Aloud Show, promises to be the group's biggest yet, and it would be such a shame if you were to miss out on all the fun, so why not take a look at the great-priced tickets you can find right now, hear at SeatPick.

The shows are a massive celebration of all that Girls Aloud have achieved and and may well either be the first time you will have seen the band's historic pop hits performed by the girls live and in person, or perhaps an opportunity to recreate that time you saw them when they first burst onto the scene.

Either way, this may well be one of the best nights out you can imagine. The anticipated shows will feature great production, new music, infinite costume changes, and, above all else, a great vibe!
