Oliver Stanley Murs was born in May 1984 in Witham, Essex and has gone on to become a solid gold pop star. After a short-lived football career, Olly Murs auditioned for the sixth season of The X Factor in 2009, where he lost the final to Joe McElderry. He immediately signed a record deal with Epic Records and Syco.

That release included two more number-one singles, Heart Skips a Beat, featuring Rizzle Kicks, and Dance With Me Tonight.
