Scouting For Girls History

Scouting for Girls were formed in 2005 by founder members Roy Stride and James Rowlands. The pair were previously in a band named Cape, with Greg Churchouse completing the band's classic lineup.

The group were signed by Epic Records and released their self-titled debut album in 2007 and it roared to the top of the UK Album charts, selling almost a million copies in the United Kingdom alone, and also did well across Europe.

The album spawned a string of hit singles including She's So Lovely, Elvis Ain't Dead, Heartbeat, It's Not About You and I Wish I Was James Bond.

Their second album, Everybody Wants to Be on TV, came in 2010 and was another commercial and critical success. It reached number two in the UK and included their first-ever UK number-one single, with This Ain't a Love Song also charting well in Belgium, Germany, New Zealand and Switzerland.

The Light Between Us (2012), Still Thinking About You (2015), The Trouble With Boys (2019) and Easy Cover (2021) followed and all performed solidly and cemented their standing within their genre.
