SS Lazio have made many appearances in the Europa League and are considered as regulars in the competition. However, there have been plenty of disappointing campaigns in recent years. They haven't reached a semi-final in their last 11 appearances in the Europa League.
I Biancocelesti’s best finish was as runners-up of the competition, back in 1997/98 when they were beaten 3-0 by Italian rivals Inter Milan. The Rome outfit are always expected to progress to the knockout phases of the tournament. However, recent editions have seen the Italian club fall short, struggling to get past much smaller clubs whilst in the Europa League group stages.
