These include up-to-the-minute tour announcements and ticket information, as well as interactive seating maps that help illustrate where you'll be situated in an arena or stadium when Justin Hawkins and his bandmates walk onto the stage.
The Darkness were formed in 2000 and saw almost instant success. Led by brothers Justin Hawkins and Dan Hawkins, the group were signed by Atlantic Records, and their debut album, Permission to Land, was released in 2003.
The album topped the UK charts and sold over three million copies worldwide, charting well across Europe and doing well in Japan and the United States. It included a run of hit singles, including Growing on Me, I Believe In a Thing Called Love (which is seemingly a part Freddie Mercury parody), Love Is Only a Feeling, and Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End).
Two years later, the band released their second album, One Way Ticket to Hell...and Back, which was another commercial success, cementing their standing. The band's original, iconic lineup saw Justin Hawkins as lead guitar player, Dan Hawkins on guitars, Frankie Poullain on bass, and Ed Graham as the band's drummer.
Even from the outset, their live shows attracted a great level of attention. Partly due to the flamboyance and spectacle of the band but also for their infectious songs. The group always puts on a great show, and every tour they have taken has seen them play sold-out events around the world.
The group broke up in 2006 and moved on to other projects. Thankfully, in 2011, the four original members of The Darkness reunited, and they released their third album, Hot Cakes, in 2012. Once again, this achieved commercial and critical success.
Last of Our Kind (2015), Pinewood Smile (2017), Easter is Cancelled (2019), and Motorheart (2021) followed and all charted in the UK and elsewhere, proving the band's longevity.
A new drummer was recruited in 2015, with Rufus Taylor (son of Queen drummer Roger Taylor and godson of former Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins) taking the sticks from Ed Graham.
The Darkness are clearly a band that does not take themselves too seriously, and in many ways, that's what makes any gig they play so much fun. Their upcoming tour is one not to be missed, and via SeatPick's vast range of tickets, you don't have to consider such an eventuality.
