Turkey vs Scotland History
Prior to Euro 2024, Scotland had never progressed beyond the group stage in any of their three appearances at the European Championship. The Scots narrowly missed out on reaching the knockouts in 1992 and again four years later, but later went winless to end bottom of their group at Euro 2020.

Turkey later failed to escape the group in 2016 as well as at Euro 2020, winning just one of a combined six games.

These teams had never met at a major tournament prior to Euro 2024, with only two existing clashes at that point. Turkey first shared a pitch with Scotland in June 1960, with this international friendly ending 4-2 in favour of Ay-Yıldızlılar.
Their next meeting wouldn't come until November 2022, in preparation for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. On this occasion Turkey ran out 2-1 winners at the Diyarbakir Stadium.
