Georgia vs Scotland History
The 2024 edition of the UEFA European Championship was only the fourth time Scotland participated in the finals of this competition. On all three previous occasions the Scots had failed to reach the knockout stage, first in 1992 and again at the next tournament four years later. More recently, at Euro 2020, Scotland ended bottom of their group having failed to pick up a win against any of England, Croatia or the Czech Republic.
Georgia are even lesser experienced in this competition compared to Scotland, and would only debut at the European Championship finals in 2024. The Crusaders defeated Greece, on penalties, in the Euro 2020 qualifying play-offs to seal their spot at the showpiece event held in Germany.

Prior to Euro 2024, all six matches contested between these teams had been exclusively Euro qualifiers. Georgia and Scotland shared a qualifying group for Euro 2008 as well as Euro 2016, with the home team victorious in each of these four fixtures.
Scotland and Georgia also clashed in Euro 2024 qualifiers, with the former claiming a 2-0 win at Hampden Park courtesy of goals from Callum McGregor and Scott McTominay. The two sides then played out a 2-2 draw at the Boris Paichadze Arena in Tbilisi; Kvicha Kvaratskhelia twice put Georgia in front but McTominay and Lawrence Shankland equalised to rescue a point for Scotland.
