Lily Allen was born in May 1985, the daughter of actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen. As a result of coming from a creative household, along with actor brother Alfie and other siblings, it was clear that she would become a star of stage or screen.

In 2006, she released her debut album, Alright, released by Regal Recordings, which proved to be a huge commercial and critical success. It reached number two on the UK album charts and sold over half a million copies in the United States and over two and a half million copies worldwide.

The album spawned her debut single, Smile, which roared to the top of the UK singles chart and also did well in the US and across Europe. Three years later, she took things up a notch when she released her second studio album, It's Not Me, It's You.

This gave her a number-one UK album and further cemented her as a pop star. The album sold more than a million copies in the United Kingdom and saw a number of singles perform well. These included The Fear and Not Fair.

In 2013, she earned her third UK number-one single when her cover of Keane's Somewhere Only We Know soared to the summit. The follow-up, Hard out Here, also from her Sheezus album, also broke into the top ten, as did Air Balloon.

A new album followed in 2018 with No Shame proving a critical success and proved her longevity as a performing artist.
