Ocean Alley History

Ocean Alley were formed in 2011 in the Northern Beaches area of New South Wales, Australia and after touring extensively in their local area, including nearby Sydney, the band released their debut EP, Yellow Mellow in 2013.

Chiaroscuro

Two years later, another EP, In Purple, was released, and the group's debut album followed in 2016, with Lost Tropics breaking into the Australian Albums Chart. Their second album, Chiaroscuro, made a much bigger impact, reaching number 11 in Australia and spawning successful singles, including The Comedown, Bones, Knees, and Confidence.

Lonely Diamond

2020's Lonely Diamond took things up a notch, earning rave reviews and being well-received globally. It reached number three in Australia and a series of singles also charts, including Stained Glass, Infinity, Tombstone, Hot Chicken and Way Down.

Low Altitude Flying

In 2022, Ocean Alley released their fourth studio album, Low Altitude Flying, which reached the top five in both Australia and New Zealand. Singles from that release include Touch Back Down, Deepest Darkness, Home and Double Vision.

Accolades

Among the many accolades the band has accrued thus far are two ARIA Music Award nominations for Song of the Year in 2019 (for Confidence) and Best Rock Album in 2020 (for Lonely Diamond). In 2021, they were nominated for Best Single for Way Down at the Rolling Stone Australia Awards.
