Scotland vs Croatia UEFA Euros Tournament Record
Scotland’s form at the UEFA European Championship is fairly patchy. As of 2023, they have managed to qualify for the finals on just three occasions, the first of which came in 1992 in Sweden.
On that occasion, they faced the Netherlands in their opener and lost out to a late Dennis Bergkamp goal. Andy Roxburgh’s side next faced Germany and were beaten 2-0 before recording a morale-boosting 3-0 win over the CIS.
At Euro 1996, Scotland, under Craig Brown, started their group stage with a solid goalless draw with the Netherlands before losing to hosts England at Wembley Stadium before completing their group phase with a win over Switzerland and, as a result, came painfully close to progressing to the knockout phase, only being overhauled by the Dutch by virtue of goals scored.
Their next finals appearance came at Euro 2020, where they once again faced England, collecting a credible draw from the match but losing their other two matches and, therefore, once again failing to make it to the next phase.
Croatia reached the Quarter-Finals in their first appearance in the UEFA European Championships, at Euro 1996, where they lost 2-1 to Germany, the eventual winners of the competition.
The Vatreni once again reached the Quarter-Finals of the tournament in 2008, this time losing to Turkey on penalties in Vienna. At Euro 2016 and Euro 2020, Croatia reached the Round of 16 before losing to Portugal and Spain, respectively.

Scotland and Croatia have met on just one previous occasion in the UEFA European Championships, and that came at Euro 2020 in the group phase.
The Croats ran out winners on that occasion, with Nikola Vlasic, Luka Modric, and Ivan Perisic scoring in a 3-1 victory in Glasgow.
