Scotland vs Slovenia UEFA Euros Tournament Record
At the time of writing, Scotland have competed in three UEFA European Championship finals and have had their ups and downs in those tournaments.
Their first visit to the finals came at Euro 92 in Sweden and saw Andy Roxburgh’s side face a daunting group. At Euro 2020, Scotland didn’t perform quite so well and only secured a single point from their group phase, albeit that came from a draw with eventual finalists England.
Slovenia have only once made it to the UEFA European Championship finals previously, and that was in Euro 2000, the tournament co-hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands.
They drew two games in the group phase, 3-3 with the Former Republic of Yugoslavia and 0-0 with Norway, which sandwiched a narrow defeat to Spain. Their two-point haul was not enough to prevent Slovenia from finishing bottom of their group.
Scotland vs Slovenia Head-to-Head
Scotland and Slovenia have never previously met in the UEFA European Championships, and their only competitive clashes up to now have taken place in the qualifying for the FIFA World Cup.
Ahead of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Scotland won away at Slovenia, and the return fixture finished goalless. They met again in the qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, and Scotland won their home fixture 1-0 thanks to a Chris Martin goal at Hampden Park, and the game in Ljubljana ended 2-2.
