Sum 41 History

Sum 41 were formed in 1994, and they released their hugely successful debut album All Killer No Filter in 2001, which was a major hit worldwide, selling over a million copies in the United States and proving a big success in their native Canada.

Fat Lip

The album included big single success with Fat Lip, In Too Deep and Motivation. In 2002, their track What We're Talking About was used in the Spider-Man soundtrack, and their second studio album, Does This Look Infected, was released in 2002 and once again charted well in the US and Canada.

In 2004, Chuck was released, and it was the third time lucky, as the group finally cracked the US Billboard Top Ten. We're All to Blame, Pieces and Some Say, singles from the album, all performed well.

Underclass Hero

2007's Underclass Hero gave the band a number one album in Canada and was their most successful album on the US charts to date and cemented their standing on the rock scene.

Screaming Bloody Murder (2011), 13 Voices (2016) and Order In Decline (2019) all sold well, especially across Europe (where they were beginning to really make an impact), and in 2024, Sum 41 released their eighth studio album.

Heave :x: Hell was well received by fans and critics alike, and its lead single, Landmines, duly went to the top of the Canadian rock charts.

Sum 41 have received many accolades over the course of their consistently successful history. These include many Juno Award wins and nominations, as well as a Grammy Award nomination in 2012 for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance for Blood In My Eyes.
