Denmark have enjoyed some incredible success at the UEFA European Championships, and their first visit to the finals took place in 1964 when they failed to negotiate a path to the final, losing to the Soviet Union at Camp Nou.

This set up a Semi-Final with reigning champions Holland, and the Danes won via penalties after netting all five of their efforts and Marco van Basten missed the key spot-kick for the C.
