Editors History

The Editors were formed after they met while studying Music Technology at Staffordshire University and having gone through a series of different names and gigging regularly in their native Birmingham, the band released their debut album The Back Room in 2005 after signing with the Kitchenware label.

The record earned rave reviews and shot to number two on the UK Album Charts and also did well across Europe. The album included a string of successful singles, including Munich, Blood, Bullets and All Sparks.

Their second studio album, An End Has a Start, went to number one in the UK and also charted on the US Billboard Albums Chart. The lead single, Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors, was their first to break into the top ten in the UK, and they had started to develop a strong loyal audience across the country and beyond.

In This Light and on This Evening also went to number one in the UK and also got into the top ten in both Germany and the Netherlands. The Weight Of Your Love (2013), In Dream (2015), Violence (2018) and EBM (2022) all performed well commercially and critically and cemented their position as one of the most consistent rock bands on the circuit.
