The Vamps were formed in 2012 when James McVey and Bradley Simpson began writing songs and working together. Tristan Evans joined via Facebook, and Connor Ball came on board via mutual friends, and the group started to make a splash by posting videos on their YouTube channel.

The group's debut single, Can We Dance, was released in 2014. It rose to number two on the UK Singles Chart and performed well across Europe, Japan, and New Zealand. Night & Day (Day Edition) followed in 2018, and in 2020, The Vamps once again topped the UK Charts with their fifth studio album, Cherry Blossom. Successful singles from that album include Married in Vegas, Chemicals and Better. Seat at the Table, a non-album single, followed in 2022.
