Bayern Munich and Galatasaray were drawn together in the 23/24 Champions League group stage. The two teams have little history against one another, with their most previous meeting taking place back in 1972.

They met in the first round of the European Cup and Galatasaray secured a 1-1 draw in the first leg at home. Yet, the Turkish giants were humiliated by Bayern in the second leg. Gerd Muller scored a brace in a crushing 6-0 defeat at the Olympiastadion.
