Dave Matthews Band History

The Dave Matthews Band was formed in 1991 in Charlottesville when Dave Matthews, working in a bar, befriended a lawyer who insisted he record a demo and work with a local musician, Carter Beauford. An early iteration of the band played clubs and bars in the area during this initial period.
