Seal Biography

Seal was born in February 1963 in Paddington, London, and in the late 1980s, he joined Push, a funk band, before opting to go solo, with great success.

He released his self-titled debut album in 1991 and it swiftly topped the UK Albums chart and also did well in the US. The album included a string of successful singles, including Crazy, Future Love Paradise, The Beginning and Killer. The work on this album from famed produced Trevor Horn proved invaluable, helping to give Seal a distinct sound and separating him from any other artist at that period.

Kiss From A Rose

His second album, released in 1994, once again went to number one in the UK and performed well across Europe and beyond. From that release came his first US number-one single, Kiss from a Rose, which was a standout hit.

Other successful releases from the album included Newborn Friend and Don't Cry.

Seal found success for the third time with his next album, Human Being, which sold well across the world and was followed up by Seal IV, which broke into the top ten in both the US and the UK.

Soul 2 (2011), 7 (2015) and Standards (2017) all received good reviews and performed fairly well, and during this period, the iconic artist continued to play great shows to crowd after crowd of appreciative fans, welcoming every song for a night they will never forget.

As well as selling over 20 million records worldwide, Seal has won a host of accolades, including three Brit Awards, four Grammy Awards, and an MTV Video Music Award. He has also appeared as a coach on the Australian version of The Voice.
