Granada FC Spanish Cup - Copa del Rey Tickets

Granada CF may have had an up and down time in Spanish football over the years, however they have certainly become an intriguing side to watch in recent seasons as the predictability factor has been completely wiped out with the Andalusian outfit. The club have had some solid outings in the Copa del Rey, and despite never being considered a favourite for the tournament, there have been some moments that have really caught the eye in the competition.

With the club having several nicknames that they go by - Nazaríes (Nasrids), El Graná, El 5001, Matagigantes, Rojiblancos - many of their fans continue to flock to the 19,336 capacity Nuevo Los Cármenes Stadium to witness their side in action and cheer them on with the possibility of witnessing a shock at the same time.

Indeed, Granada CF have caused some eyebrows to be raised in recent editions of the Copa del Rey, as they managed to achieve their one of their best modern finishes in the 2019/20 competition as they reached the semi-finals.

However, the Andalusian outfit have had some success in the tournament in the past, although fans have had plenty of time to wait to see their side do as well. The Southern Spanish outfit managed to finish runners up in the 1958/59 edition of the tournament, having been beaten by FC Barcelona in the final.

Because of the wait and the up and down seasons Granada CF have had over the years, fans have had to be patient to be able to call upon any favourable moments in the Copa del Rey, however it would seem their patience was rewarded in the 2019/20 campaign.

Rojiblancos managed to reach the semi-finals of the tournament after upsetting Valencia CF in the quarter-final stage of the cup. In fact, the club were so close to going through to the final as they ultimately lost to the away goals rule in their Last Four meeting with Athletic Club Bilbao, with Yuri Berchiche Izeta scoring with just nine minutes to go for the Basque region to stop Granada CF from reaching their first final in 60 years.
