Getafe CF Spanish Cup - Copa del Rey Tickets

Getafe CF might be a team that is unable to call upon a trophy cabinet that is brimming with silverware, however they have certainly started to change the landscape of Spanish football over the last few decades. The club have had some solid performances in recent editions of the Copa del Rey, which has seen the 17,393 capacity Coliseum Alfonso Perez Stadium become a must-go venue when they feature in the tournament each season.

Azulones have managed to continue to push for places in the latter stages of the competition in recent seasons as they continue to change the shape of domestic football, providing fans with something new and exciting. Indeed, with players such as Djené Dakonam, Nemanja Maksimović, Kenedy and Roberto Abbondanzieri having all featured for the club over the years, it should not be a surprise at just how well they have started to do.

Of course, Getafe CF do not have any Copa del Rey titles to their name, however they have come extremely close to being crowned champions on at least two occasions.

The Madrid outfit managed to reach back to back finals in the 2006/07 and 2007/08 campaigns, but they came up short both times as they had to settle for a runners up medal. The team, though, since becoming an established La Liga outfit have managed to qualify for the latter stages of the tournament more often than not.

Indeed, those final appearances are certainly the most memorable for the club in recent years, as their recent escapades in the tournament have not come anywhere near close to replicating those feats.

The 2006/07 edition of the Copa del Rey saw Getafe CF overcome the likes of Valencia CF, CA Osasuna and FC Barcelona before falling short to Sevilla FC, whereas their 2007/08 run saw the club defeat Levante UD, RCD Mallorca and Racing de Santander before being beaten by Valencia CF in the final.
