Osasuna Spanish Cup - Copa del Rey Tickets

CA Osasuna might not be one of the most recognisable clubs in the world, however they have some history when it comes down to the Spanish game and the domestic tournaments played; specifically the Copa del Rey. The club, who hail from Pamplona, have managed to reach a final on at least one occasion, therefore it is no surprise that supporters continue to flock to the 23,576 capacity El Sadar stadium when the tournament appears on their schedule each season.

The club, who are also known as Gorritxoak or Los Rojillos by their fans or those associated with the team, may not have been the biggest side in the country, however they have still had some quality individuals as part of their squad over the years. Men such as Oier, Roberto Torres, Pierre Webó, John Aloisi, César Azpilicueta and Javi Martínez as well as others have all featured for the club.

CA Osasuna have been able to boast a runners up medal when it comes down to the Copa del Rey, having been beaten by Real Betis in the 2004/05 edition of the tournament, with extra-time having been needed to get the result done.

Although they have only been able to make one final in their history, the club’s appearances in the competition have been rather solid at times, as they continue to pose a challenge. The Pamplona-based outfit have managed to reach the Round of 16 stage of the Copa del Rey on numerous occasions.

Indeed, it would be no surprise if the 2004/05 Copa del Rey provided CA Osasuna with some of their most memorable moments as they managed to record some big results on their way to the final.

Despite losing to Real Betis in the final, Los Rojillos had to overcome challenges from Getafe, Sevilla FC, whilst also recording victory against Atletico Madrid in the semi-final. All of these victories were decided by one-goal, with the final also having been decided by the virtue of a one-goal swing.

There have been some poor performances, though, over the years that fans will want to forget as CA Osasuna have gone out in the 2nd round on far too many occasions in recent years, with a shock defeat to Reus in the 2018/19 edition of the Copa del Rey standing out.
