SD Eibar Spanish Cup - Copa del Rey Tickets

SD Eibar have started to raise a few eyebrows with their performances in the Copa del Rey as they appear to be producing solid displays with each year’s competition and making some progress. Having established themselves as a La Liga outfit over the past decade, fans continue to support their team in their droves regardless of the tournament as the 8,164 capacity Ipurua Municipal Stadium fills up, especially when some of the bigger sides turn up.

The club, who have the nicknames Armagiñak / Los Armeros and Azulgranas, are not the biggest side to have ever featured in Spanish football, therefore they have had a rather modest squad, which makes their achievements all the more spectacular.

SD Eibar, who are a small club from the Basque region of the country, have managed to reach the latter stages of the Copa del Rey in each of the last six appearances in the tournament, as they have been able to put runs together that has seen them play in the Round of 16 and the quarter-finals on at least one occasion.

As mentioned, the club appears to be going from strength to strength at the moment, which is why a host of fans are extremely excited about what they might just be able to achieve in the near future in the competition.

Of course, reaching the quarter-final in the 2016/17 edition of the Copa del Rey is certainly one of the most memorable achievements for the small Basque outfit.

SD Eibar managed to beat the likes of Sporting Gijon and CA Osasuna over two legs rather comprehensively, however a meeting with Atletico Madrid in the Last 8 of the tournament proved to be too much for them.

The 2012/13 Copa del Rey also brought the club an incredible moment that they could add to their history as well, as they managed to beat Athletic Club Bilbao as a Segunda Division outfit on away goals to reach the Round of 16 but were defeated by Malaga CF.
