About Udinese Coppa Italia
Udinese History in the Coppa Italia
Udinese Calico do not have the storied history that other clubs in Italy are able to boast when it comes down to the Coppa Italia competition, however that has not stopped fans from passionately supporting their side when they take part in the tournament each season. As such, the 25,144 capacity Stadio Friuli becomes an incredible venue to witness some great football in the cup.
The club has numerous nicknames that they go by, with I Bianconeri (not to be confused with Juventus FC), I Friulani and Le Zebrette all having been commonly used over the years. Despite the stature of the club, they have had a number of top players turn out in their colours over the years in the cup competition, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Juan Cuadrado, Carsten Jancker, Oliver Bierhoff, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Bruno Fernandes, Łukasz Teodorczyk and Mehdi Benatia all making several appearances over the years.
Udinese's Top Achievements In the Coppa Italia
Udinese Calcio have not had great success when it comes to the tournament, as they have only been able to reach one final since being formed as a football club. Over the years, the club have found it incredibly difficult to build any momentum in the tournament as they appear to go out in the early stages more often than not.
I Bianconeri competed in the very first edition of the Coppa Italia in the 1921/22 season, however they were on the wrong end of the result as they lost to Vado.
