SSC Napoli have only once again recently become a mainstay in regards to being one of Italy’s elite clubs in recent years, however that is just one of the reasons that has made them so exciting when the competition is scheduled. With the club having only just recently started to establish a history in the competition, there is still some optimism around Naples, hence why the 54,726 capacity Stadio San Paolo becomes a cauldron of passion and buzz; fans are desperate to see the club become one of the best in the country.
Indeed, whilst I Partenopei have once again just started to get themselves on the Coppa Italia scene, they have had a number of superstar players throughout their history that has certainly got fans desperate to go to their fixtures in the past. Men such as Diego Maradona and Gianfranco Zola have both featured, whilst players like Dries Mertens, Kalidou Koulibaly, Gonzalo Higuain and Marek Hamsik have all played roles in recent memory.

SSC Napoli have had some success in the tournament over the years and, as such, are continuing to build on previous accomplishments within the competition. Reaching the final has proven to be difficult at times, however the club do have a history doing so.
I Partenopei have won the Coppa Italia on no fewer than six occasions, having won the 1961–62, 1975–76, 1986–87, 2011–12, 2013–14, and 2019–20 editions of the tournament. The Naples outfit have also reached the final on four other occasions, although they had to settle for runners-up positions in the 1971/72, 1977/78, 1988/89 and 1996/97 editions.
