About US Lecce Coppa Italia
US Lecce History in the Coppa Italia
U.S. Lecce do not necessarily have a storied history with the Coppa Italia competition, however that has not stopped fans from passionately supporting their side when they participate in the domestic cup tournament. As such, the 31,533 capacity Stadio Via del Mare becomes a brilliant venue to witness some great football.
The club has numerous nicknames that they go by, with I Giallorossi (not to be confused with AS Roma), I Salentini and I Lupi all having been commonly used over the years. Despite the stature of the club, they have had a number of top players turn out in their colours over the years in the Coppa Italia, with men such as Antonio Conte, Graziano Pellè, Javier Chevantón, Juan Cuadrado, Fabrizio Miccoli and Massimo Oddo all make several appearances.
US Lecce's Top Achievements In the Coppa Italia
U.S. Lecce have not had great success when it comes to the tournament, as they have not been able to reach a final since being formed as a football club. Over the years, the club have found it incredibly difficult to build any momentum in the tournament as they appear to go out in the early stages more often than not.
I Giallorossi have come up against the likes of Parma, Cesena, Genoa and which has perhaps been a reason as to why they have struggled to get beyond those rounds and reach the final round of the tournament.
