There is nothing quite like a London rivalry in the Premier League and Arsenal vs Crystal Palace is one that will always rise to the occasion as it brings plenty of action and entertainment to the pitch when the two sides meet.
Being hosted at a top-quality venue like the Emirates Stadium certainly helps to add to the bill as well, with the impressive structure certainly one that needs to be visited and experienced, especially when a capital rival is taking to the turf as well. The Emirates Stadium is one of the newest builds in the Premier League, having been completed in 2006 and is one of the most state of the art stadiums currently in world football. With 60,704 fans able to be gathered together and watch the football on offer, there is no experience quite like it.
The Gunners have had some excellent times against the Eagles when they host the south London club, with many of their previous meetings, have ended in a positive result. Such score lines have included 4-1, 5-1 and 2-0 in the past whereas losing the fixture does not appear to have been in the offing for the hosts.
However, the fixture has had a rather ugly moment in the past as well, with Granit Xhaka having been booed off by his own supporters after a tough period during the ill-fated managerial spell of Unai Emery.
A number of stars have played in the fixture over the years, with the likes of Thierry Henry, Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have all featured, whilst Palace have also brought the likes of Wilfried Zaha to grace the Emirates Stadium turf with some fine performances.
Historically, Arsenal vs Crystal Palace looks to be a fixture that will always promise those that do attend the Emirates Stadium that they will be able to see the hosts pick up a win, whilst there is some precedent that there will be a number of goals involved as well for good measure.
