Arsenal are very much in the ascendancy, but it is worth remarking on the staying power shown by Wolves in recent seasons.

However, efforts from Nicolas Pepe and an own goal from keeper Jose Sa gave Mikel Arteta’s side a late win to break Wolves' hearts.

Way back in September 1979, Wolves did secure a win at Arsenal, and they actually finished above their hosts in that season, securing a sixth-place spot, which earned them a UEFA Cup berth in the same year they had also triumphed in the League Cup.
