Norway's involvement at the European Championships has been sporadic, to say the least. They have pretty much struggled to qualify for every edition of the tournament, failing to do so in every tournament bar one, so let's focus on their exploits at Euro 2000.
Norway national football team: Top UEFA Euro Achievements
Manager Nils Johan Semb succeeded where every other Norway national football team coach had before him, securing qualification for the finals in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Top Talents
Semb's squad included some top players, such as Manchester United pair Henning Berg and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Chelsea forward Tore Andre Flo, Rosenborg battleaxe John Carew and the likes of John Arne Riise, Steffen Iversen and Erik Mykland.
Beating Spain
Norway won their first game, beating Spain thanks to a goal from Iversen but then lost to Yugoslavia in Liege.
That meant they needed to get a win from their match against Slovenia but could only secure a goalless draw, which was not enough to qualify due to Yugoslavia having scored more goals.
Failing to Qualify
Norway then failed to qualify for every subsequent finals tournament, despite having top talents at their disposal, including Premier League star Morten Gamst Pedersen and defensive stalwart Brede Hangeland, and the return of national team coach Egil Olsen between 2009 and 2013.

Here's a list of the matches the country will play ahead of the finals in Germany.
