Full-back Stuart Pearce made 522 appearances for Nottingham Forest between 1985 and 1997, and he spent a season as a player at Manchester City in 2001-02, during which the club won the title in the second tier. He then returned to the club to manage them from March 2005 to May 2007.
Another player to play for both is Ishmael Miller, who came through the youth ranks at Man City, making 20 senior appearances, before leaving for West Brom and subsequently spending three seasons at the City Ground.
