About Norwich City FA Cup
Norwich City History in the FA Cup
Norwich City might be one of the sides that continue to yo-yo between England’s Premier League and Championship divisions, however they still entertain when they play in the FA Cup each year. Considering the tournament is the world’s oldest club knockout competition, many teams appear to get lifted by the boost that the ‘magic of the cup’ can provide them and Carrow Road is no different. With a capacity crowd of 27,539 behind the team, there is always an excitement and buzz when teams come to visit in knockout matches.
The Canaries, as Norwich are affectionately known, may not necessarily have the superstar attraction or power that many of the other top sides have in the competition, however they have had some of the most appealing young talents in the game which has made these fixtures all the more intriguing. The likes of James Maddison, Todd Cantwell, Max Aarons and Ben Godfrey have all featured in previous contests, providing fans with a chance to witness some of the game’s potential future stars.
Norwich City's Top Achievements In the FA Cup
Unfortunately, Norwich are not a side that can boast any successful history in the competition, as they have not yet reached a final, let alone be able to enjoy the success that winning one can provide.
The Canaries best achievement in the FA Cup has been a place in the semi-finals, however they have never been able to progress beyond that stage of the competition. Those semi-final ties were an extremely long time ago, with them happening back in 1959, 1989 and 1992.
