Wolves History in the FA Cup
As one of the founders of the Football League back in 1888, Wolverhampton Wanderers have heaps of history in English football. The Midlands club has triumphed in the FA Cup on multiple occasions, with several more appearances in the latter stages of this tournament.
FA Cup games at Molineux Stadium have often produced memorable moments for the home faithful. The likes of Peter Broadbent, John Richards, Matt Doherty, and Raúl Jiménez have all represented Wolves in the FA Cup.
Wolves's Top Achievements In the FA Cup
Wolves have been crowned winners of the FA Cup on no fewer than four occasions. The club's maiden triumph in this competition came in the 1892/93 season, when Harry Allen scored the only goal in the final versus Everton.
WWFC next lifted the FA Cup in 1908, with victory over Newcastle United in the final. The 'Old Gold' had to wait more than 40 years to get their hands on this trophy once more, eventually doing so in 1949. On this occasion, Wolves beat Leicester City at Wembley.
Wolves' most recent FA Cup success came in 1960, courtesy of a 3-0 win against Blackburn Rovers. Almost 100,000 spectators attended this fixture.
