WHUFC have a rich history in this competition, having previously lifted the FA Cup trophy on three occasions. The Hammers have reached the final no fewer than five times, most recently in 2006.

West Ham United's Top Achievements In the FA Cup
The Irons have achieved a decent amount of success in this tournament, though not so much in recent years. 1964 was the first time West Ham lifted the FA Cup trophy, as Ronnie Boyce scored a late winner for his side to prevail over Preston North End, 3-2.
WHUFC reclaimed the title in 1975, with a 2-0 victory over London rivals Fulham in the final. Five years later the Hammers collected FA Cup title number three, thanks to a narrow 1-0 win over Arsenal. Trevor Brooking scored the decisive goal at Wembley Stadium.
