To date, this remains the furthest Brighton have progressed in the FA Cup, a feat that was almost matched in 2023. Under manager Roberto De Zerbi, BHAFC advanced to the semi-finals but once again lost out to Man United, this time via a penalty shootout following a goalless stalemate at Wembley Stadium.
This came four years after Brighton had made the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1983, in a losing effort to eventual champions Manchester City.
