Crystal Palace vs Burnley History

The first time these clubs shared a pitch was in the 1909 FA Cup. They drew 0-0 in the Second Round before the Clarets recorded a commanding 9-0 victory in the replay. Up until the end of the 2022/23 season, this scoreline remains Burnley’s biggest win in the FA Cup.

The teams met again in the world’s oldest cup competition in 1983, more than seven decades after that nine-goal demolition at Turf Moor. Once more, a goalless draw meant a replay was required and, again, Burnley prevailed although this time just by a single goal to nil.
