The Europa League is a major club competition which was formerly known as the UEFA Cup until 2009. It is the second most prestigious competition for European football clubs after the Champions League.

The latest alteration to the Europa League format came ahead of the 2024/25 season. This change saw the 32-team Europa League group stage replaced by a 36-team league phase. Instead of eight groups consisting of four competitors each, all 36 teams are grouped together in a single 'league' format.

In the Europa League league phase, every club will play against eight different teams – four at home and four away. At the end of the league phase, the top eight teams will automatically qualify for the Round of 16.

Those placed from 9th - 24th will then compete in a two-legged knockout phase play-off, with the eight victorious clubs advancing to the Round of 16. The eight losing sides are eliminated from European football, as are those ranked 25th - 36th in the league phase.

The competition then continues as a traditional knockout tournament, with a Round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final. The Europa League final is, without doubt, one of the biggest matches in the football calendar, and interest in Europa League final tickets is therefore, unsurprisingly, very high.
